QUITTING AT THE START
At present, we are having a recruitment drive for new librarians. Both Puan Asiah and I have been seeing students who wish to become librarians. We always tell them that they will be given a one to two week probation and that they need to come every afternoon to the library and do the duties that would be assigned to them.
There was quite a number who were interested and they were all given probation. A couple quite after a week as they said that they wanted to apply to be school prefects. Today a few boys came and as usual they were told to try-out for it. Guess what? After a few hours of sorting misplaced books, they informed Puan Asiah that they wanted to resign. Well, the joke is they were not even chosen yet. How could they resign? They simply gave up as they found that being a librarian means hard work and discipline.
The girls in the picture have been coming regularly for the past week and have shown that they are suitable for the post. They will be informed of their selection next week.
