BOTTLE TREE

During the one week school break, I watched a drama series that featured the bottle tree. I was rather fascinated with the shape of the tree and learnt more about it from the World Wide Web.

The bottle tree is any of various trees of the genus Brachychiton, within the cacao, or chocolate, family (Sterculiaceae), native to Australia. They grow to a height of 18 m (60 feet). They are cultivated in other warm regions as ornamentals. The name refers to the peculiar shape of the trunk.
