WORKSHOP ON CATALOGING AND BOOK PROCESSING

This afternoon, the librarians were taught how to catalogue books and then process them before they are ready to be put on the shelves in the library. Puan Asiah was the one who taught the students the fine points of book processing. The girls and boys were then made to process some of the books. Miss Cheah informed them about cataloging and the students were also given notes. In the meantime, two other students helped to update the organisation chart for the resource centre of the school. As the school library committee wishes to change to the automated system as soon as possible, I have enlisted more librarians from the ICT class or those who have the necessary computer skills to help speed up the processing. Tomorrow, Firdaus, Sarah from 5ICT will see Puan Siti Kamariah to ask for help on how to carry out the processing using the Library Management System that was installed last year.
