MAINTENANCE WORK
I am sad to say only Sam turned up this afternoon to do the maintenance work for the four computers in the academic staffroom. Aizat was absent and so he could not come. However, the other two boys who had agreed to come help did not. So, finally I had to assist Sam in debugging the system and uninstalling certain "suspicious" programmes that might be slowing the computers down. I also removed most of files in the computers which were occupying a lot of memory space. This would be one of the main reasons why the system is very slow and also it keeps "hanging". A few days before this, I had asked Cikgu Rosli Samot to inform the teachers to save whatever documents they wanted to save. Actually, I found that there were files dating back to 1995 when I first came to this school. Hopefully, I don't get lynched by an irate teacher whose files I have removed. But then I have already given notice even until this afternoon when the teachers were about to go home.
We managed to do three of the computers and that leaves only one more which Sam can do tomorrow morning since he finished sitting for all his mid-year examination papers. In case you are wondering, the above picture was taken by Encik Shukri (the one who is in-charge of the printing room).
