PAY RISE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS
Yesterday our prime minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced a pay increase and the doubling of cost of living allowances (COLA) for all civil servants. The salaries would increase between 7.5% for senior management and 35% for category two support staff. That is indeed very good news especially for those in the lower income group as the cost of living has risen in recent years due to the effect of fuel prices.
