NEWLY PROMOTED SENIOR TEACHER FOR CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

I am glad to report that we have a new senior teacher for co-curricular activities. He is none other than Cikgu Mokhtar Zakaria.

Cikgu Mokhtar has been teaching since 1984 after he completed his degree in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He was first posted to Sekolah Menengah Dato Haron in Petaling Jaya. Next he got a transfer to Sekolah Menengah Sungkai and then Sekolah Menengah Teknik Seri Manjung on 1st May, 1994 where he has been until today.

He is happily married to Puan Jariah bt Mohamed and they have 6 children. One of his children died in a road accident. Her name was Sarah who would have been 14 years old if she had lived. His other children are Siti Aisyah (19 years), Mashitah (18 years), Mohamad Luqman (16 years), Balkis (12 years) and Khadijah (7 years).

When asked about how he felt on taking over the responsibilities of this post, Cikgu Mokhtar said that he considered it a challenge and that he has a lot to learn. At present he is trying to absorb everything that has to do with his post.
