MINGGU PUSAT SUMBER LUNCHEON

To mark the close of the resource centre week, there was a Jamuan Penutup for all the teachers. We also invited the officials from the Agricultural Department who had helped us during the Green Earth Competition and also the people from College Community Teluk Intan who had helped us. One of the highlights of the luncheon was the cooking demonstration by Tuan Haji Ahmad Hasnin. He prepared Tom Yam for the teachers. For your information, Tom Yam is one dish that contains a lot of herbs, example, lemongrass, shallots, onions and garlic. Many of the dishes and items were sponsored by our own teachers. A few of the teachers also gave cash.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee members (both teachers and students) of the Minggu Pusat Sumber who have worked very hard to make this programme successful. The teachers had come during their free periods to prepare the food and to get everything organised. Then there is the library assistant, Puan Asiah Sungep who is a real gem and who is really priceless. I was also very proud of some of the prefects and Form 4 students who had volunteered to help out this morning. A few of these students even came in the afternoon to help with the cleaning up. Since this is the first time that our school is holding such a week, there were many things that we were not sure of and there were also quite a few of technical hitches. However, I am glad to say that on the whole everything went smoothly.
