A DAY WITH THE PARENTS

Saturday, 8th September was a school day for SMTSM. On this day, a few activities were carrried out. There was a motivation talk for the Form Four students in the Aspuri Dining Hall. For the Form Five students, the "Hari Bersama Ibu Bapa" or "A day with the parents" cum special prayers for SPM 2007 were held. The parents of the students were invited to join in the programme. This is the first time that our school is holding such an event for the Form Five students.

This programme aims to put forth the idea that the school and the parents have a share in the education of the students in striving for excellence. A talk was given by a guest speaker with the objective of making students realise the sacrifices of their parents in raising and nurturing them. It is also hoped that after this session, they will become more motivated and really strive to succeed in their SPM and make their parents proud.

View the slide show below of the goings-on on Saturday. Note that at the end of the talk, most of the parents, teachers and students were moved to tears. Those students whose parents had passed away went out and hugged their teachers. Puan Siti Arfah, Ustaz Lotpi, Cikgu Wan, Cikgu Azman and many of the teachers took on the role of parents and gave the students a good hug.
