MOONCAKE FESTIVALDo you know that the Chinese are celebrating the Mooncake or Lantern Festival tonight? I am sure as Malaysians you will know that many of the Chinese children will be playing with lanterns and lighting candles tonight. Also there will be moon parties and lantern processions.
As tomorrow is a working day and I am here in Manjung, I cannot go back and celebrate the festival at home with my family members in Ipoh. And since both Khairil and Fydo have been pestering me to give them a treat when they berbuka puasa, I decided to celebrate it with them since they have always been ever ready to help me whenever I asked for their help. I treated both boys to dinner at Uncle Zam and then the three of us lighted candles in the herb garden. At first I had wanted to have all the oil lamps lit tonight but since I discovered that the price of kerosene is very high and the money that I have collected would only be enough for me to light the lamps for about 8 nights, I decided to light it on the 17th day of the Ramadan month to save cost. Unless, I get more sponsors for kerosene. Until today, I have collected RM25.00 from people in the school.
