REMAYUNG SOUP
I have been trying to promote the use of the herbs that are grown in our herb garden to our students, staff and teachers who come to the library. What I do is boil the herb and invite them to sample the soup or the drink. Also I make it a point of telling them what medicinal benefits they can get from drinking the herbs. Remayung or Ceylonese Spinach is good for lowering high blood pressure or hypertension and also to aid bowel motion. The juice from the flowers can be used for sore eyes. The above picture shows Cikgu Faizal drinking the Remayung soup that was boiled in the library this morning. Yesterday, Puan Asiah and the Form Four librarians have planted more of this herb and anyone interested can contact us to get them. Besides Cikgu Faizal, Ustaz Zulnizam, Cikgu Ishak Ismail, Cik Karimah, Tn Haji Ahmad Hasnin, Puan Idayati and Cikgu Shahidan also tried the soup.
