CURRICULUM MEETING

Puan Siti Arfah chaired the last Curriculum Meeting for 2009 this afternoon which was held in the Quality Room. The meeting started at 3.00 p.m. Heads of Departments and Units attended the meeting.

GUAVA FRUIT

This afternoon Sharveen and Naqib helped to wrap the fruits that are growing on the guava plant. A few months ago, Puan Asiah wrapped 5 of the fruits in our Fruit Garden but before we could enjoy eating the fruit of the plant that Puan Idayati and I bought at the Pasar Khamis in Kampung Koh a year ago, someone plucked our guavas. I don't think Cikgu Shahidan who planted it for us got to eat the fruit as well. Yeah! Whoever did this is not civic conscious.

BLOOD PRESSURE NORMAL

Puan Bazuaniza helped to check Puan Asiah's and my blood pressure today using a device she had purchased from the pharmacy. As can be seen, my blood pressure is normal and so is Puan Asiah's. It must be the Herbal drinks that we have been taking. Heh! Heh! Heh!

PUAN AMINAH OUR CLERK

I have yet to publish photos of Puan Aminah until this afternoon when she came to the library to get me to sign some forms. Whenever I see her at the office she always gives me a sweet smile and you can see her smiling sweetly in the photographs above.

LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT 'JAMUAN'

After the launching ceremony of the Language Lab, all those present were invited to have breakfast at the school canteen. The main course was Soto.

MOMENTO FOR AMIRUL

Amirul who helped to videotape the launch of the Makmal Bahasa or Language Lab posed for two photographs with Puan Siti Arfah. I am sure that they will be his treasured momento of his time here at STESMA.

ROLE PLAYING
I happened to pass by Cikgu Marsidi's class this morning and noticed that he was teaching them about the voting process. He was using role play to teach his Civics class and I asked permission to take pictures.

CHECKING ON OUR GALLERY

We have not been into our gallery for some time now as other activities and programmes had taken up our time and attention. However, Puan Bazuaniza, Puan Asiah and I decided to go and check the place. I am glad to report that it is still in good condition except for a bit of dust. So the three of us swept and dusted the place. I will try and ask our cleaners to mop the floor next week as we will be expecting some students from a few schools who will be coming for a visit on 10, 11 and 12 November, 2009.

TITAN-ARUM

I always thought that the largest flower in the world was the Rafflesia until I got these pictures in my email. It seems that the Rafflesia that we have in Malaysia is the largest single flower. The largest unbranched inflorescence in the world is the Amorphophallus titanum. It is a cadaverous flower. It can grow to a towering two meters high and weighs 75 kilos. It blooms for only three days every 40 years.

SENIOR TEACHERS

Altogether we have 5 senior teachers in our school. They are Encik Sulaimi for Science and Humanities, Puan Rasilah for Mathematics and Science, Encik Shabudin for Vocational Studies, Puan Salasiah for Technical Studies and Puan Kamariah for Languages.
This afternoon Cikgu Rasilah and Cikgu Sulaimi were having a discussion when I took the above photographs.

ONE MORE MONTH

Like his other friends in Form 5, Sharveen has another month left of schooling in STESMA before he finishes his secondary school education.
This afternoon, he helped me to refill the ink for the printer cartridge and also to check on the plants in the Fruit Garden.

INTERNAL EXAMINATION PERSONNEL

Cikgu Irma and Encik Ishak Ismail are two members of the Internal Examination committee. Every time there is an examination, both of them will be on duty in the Bilik Peperiksaan.

SECOND DAY OF EXAMINATION

The above pictures of 4PK were taken in the afternoon when the students were sitting for the Mathematics paper.

FORMER STUDENT: 1997 - 1998

I met one of our former students, Aida, at the school canteen this afternoon. Aida was in 5KE1 (1998 batch). She is now working as a Sales Executive for Bank Islam in Manjung.

LENG CHEE KANG, ANYONE?

We only sold one herbal drink for our sales activity this morning. The drink in particular is Leng Chee Kang which is considered a cooling drink. Two of our Form 5 prefects, Azrul and Syafiq helped me to sell Leng Chee Kang to the teachers.

CHIEF EXAM INVIGILATORS
Cikgu Daniel and Tuan Haji Ahmad Hasnin are both chief invigilators for the SPM examinations and both of them took off for Taiping after attending to their work this morning. They would be given briefing on what to do for the examination this year.

SCHOOL CANTEEN FOOD

Here are pictures of our canteen operators and their helpers preparing food for recess for the teachers and students this morning.

INCREASE IN USERS
2.00 p.m.
2.20 p.m.
2.21 p.m.
3.15 p.m.

As compared to when I first took over the administration of the library in January 2007, the number of people using the place has increased at least ten times. This is due to all the planning by the committee members to make sure that the library is a condusive place to be in. Next year we hope that we can do better than what we have done this year.

A LOT DONE

With each passing day, the wall along the perimeter of the school is taking shape. This afternoon I saw the workers plastering the cement on the structure. Wonder if they are going to paint it later?

RELOCATING THE WATER PIPE

This morning, Encik Mat Nasir was busy relocating the water pipe in front of the library to the corner beside the printing room. We requested for the water from the pipe caused puddles of water which are unsightly and also messy. Encik Sukri and Encik Zainal also came to help in the afternoon.

BORIA

Heh! Heh! I noticed that both Puan Salasiah and Puan Norbazuaniza were wearing baju kurungs that were very similar in colour and floral designs. That is why I requested that the two of them pose for pictures for me to post here.

ELITE PROGRAMME AT AMIR CHALET

Here are some photos of the Elite Programme taken from Puan Khairah's blog. 60 of our students attended the programme which was held at Amir Chalet over the weekend. The students had to pass all their subjects and score at least an A to be chosen for this programme which was planned to help boost the quality of passes for our school.
