ENCIK ISMAIL BIN MOKHTAR

Cikgu Ismail is the senior teacher in charge of co-curricular activities for the school. He is a very experienced teacher having taught for eighteen years. He graduated from University Science Malaysia with a Bachelor of Education degree in Physics. His wife, Puan Wan Roslina, is also a teacher. She teaches Chemistry in SMJK(C) Nan Hwa. They have four children, Nurul Ain (16 years), Nurul Husna (14 years), Mustaqim (12 years) and Nurul Nabiha (10 years).
When asked about how he met Puan Roslina, he said that he was her senior at university. Someone had introduced them when he was in his final year. According to him, there was not big romance or courtship. I guess the moment he saw her, he had decided to marry her because a year after he graduated, he sent his family members to her house and asked for her hand in marriage. They were married on 27th July, 1988. Cikgu Ismail tells me that that was the same date that Cikgu Sabri and his wife tied the knot as well. Both were first posted to Kota Kinabalu after their graduation.
Cikgu Ismail is another enthusiast of big bikes. He is pictured with his Vulcan bike which he bought last year. When he is free, he likes to go for a spin on his bike.
He plans to ask for a transfer to Sabah or Sarawak in the near future as both he and his wife have fond memories of the places and people there. But he adds that he would only want to serve there for a few years. He plans to come back to Sekolah Menengah Teknik when he is reaching retirement age. Why? Because his home is here. He also has plans to go on the hajj with his wife in four years' time.
