Ros Ramona
Remember I blogged about bringing along a prefect for a filing course in my previous entry. Well! I would like to introduce you to the girl. As I had only started teaching again less than two months ago, I really did not know the students well. So, I relied on Puan Fatihah who is one of the library teachers to suggest a reliable and responsible student to take along. Ros Ramona was the name she gave me. I am glad to say that the person recommended was indeed a very suitable as well as interesting choice.
The first thing that struck me about her was her physical beauty. This fair lass who hails from the same hometown as Dato' Michelle Yeoh and I, Ipoh, could compete with the likes of Erra Fazira and Siti Norhaliza when it comes to looks.
But the girl is not just all looks, she has talents as well. She is computer savvy and has her own blogspot. She studied guitar until third grade but had to stop when she was enrolled in this school. Besides being able to play the guitar, she used to be an active cheerleader for her former school, Ave Maria Convent in Ipoh. The cheerleading team, The Titans, from that school actually became the champions at the national level competition held very recently. She tells me that if she had not come to STESMA she would have been involved.
Ramona as she prefers to be called is fluent in Mandarin having been taught in the language since Kindergarten. She only changed to a Malay medium school this year. Besides, Mandarin she can converse in Cantonese though not too fluently. As her parents had the foresight to send her to a Chinese school, she is now trilingual being proficient in Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and the English language. Perhaps her mother being an educator herself knew what was best for her daughter. Her dad is a national service manager. She has a sister but the girl is not Chinese educated.
She enjoys listening to both western and chinese songs. Her favourite mandarin singers are S.H.E., Jolin Tsai and Wang Lee Hom.
