HAPPY MANDARINS

The teachers and staff of the school were each presented with a pair of "smiley" mandarin oranges by Miss Cheah as a small gift for the Chinese New Year. No doubt the gift may be simple and cheap but it is given from the heart and it took about 2 hours to draw all the Smiley faces on the 192 oranges. It was rather difficult as the oil from the peel reacted with the permanent marker ink and made it hard to draw on. The surface of each mandarin had to be wiped with a piece of tissue first before the drawing could be done.
