CIKGU DANIEL IS HOSPITALISED

This morning there was an emergency in Block N. Cikgu Daniel Farid bin Faizal, the warden, had to be rushed to hospital by Ustaz Fauzi. He was suffering from acute back pains and could barely walk. He might be suffering from a slipped disc but this has yet to be confirmed by the doctor who treated him. The diagnosis will come after further checks and the results of the X-ray and other tests are out. According to Cikgu Daniel, if tests confirm that he is suffering from a slipped disc there is a possibility that he might have to undergo surgery to rectify the problem. However, he says that the surgery would be a minor one.

Puan Kamariah and I visited him in hospital this morning. He was lying down on the hospital bed and was in great pain. He told us that the problem started when he was having his morning toilette. He could not straighten his back and had to slowly inch his way to his room to get dressed and then call Ustaz Lotpi and Ustaz Fauzi for help.

This evening when I went with Puan Asiah and 6 of the librarians, we found that he had a steady stream of visitors. Many of the students, staff and teachers had visited him. After I left, it seemed that Puan Siti Arfah and a few other teachers also visited him.

Since the hospital does not allow phototaking, I have posted a picture of an entangled Garfield here. I am told by the students that Cikgu Daniel looks as cute and cuddly as Garfield and hence the nickname.
