OPENING CEREMONY OF MALAY WEDDING EXHIBITION

The principal of Sekolah Menengah Teknik Seri Manjung, Puan Siti Arfah bt Ibrahim, successfully officated the opening of the Malay Wedding Exhibition this morning. The ceremony started immediately after the contact time with the teachers. Puan Siti Arfah, Ustaz Lotpi and the other teachers who did not have any classes on at that time were escorted to the library by two girl librarians carrying the Bunga Manggar and also the school kompang group.

The gimmick for the launch was the idea of Puan Kamariah Sulaiman. To officially open the exhibition, the principal had to cut open a covered container containing nasi pulut. For your information, Puan Kamariah was also responsible for cooking the pulut and the rendang daging for this dish. Ustazah Roslina then presented Puan Siti Arfah with a handmade framed picture of her daughter Ezzaty. The teachers were then invited to taste the food prepared by Puan Kamariah. After the meal, Puan Siti Arfah, Ustaz Lotpi and the other teachers went round to look at the exhibits displayed. There were also live demonstrations of how to prepare bunga rampai and how to make bunga telur. Visitors were also treated to a DVD presentation of the marriage of Puan Siti Arfah's eldest son which was held last year. There were a lot of visitors to the exhibition throughout the day. This exhibition will be on until Friday, 20th April 2007. So do come and give us your support!
