VEGETABLE PLOT

Visitors to this blog might be misled to think that Sekolah Menengah Teknik Seri Manjung specialised in agriculture as there a lots and lots of photos of plants being posted and also pictures of teachers and students planting. Just for the record, our school specialises in Electrical and Electronical Engineering. The Herb Garden happens to be under the wing of the Resource Centre which I, as the Media teacher and supervisor, have to be responsible for. It is my duty to promote this place and to make it into a centre of information about plants for the teachers, staff and students of the school.

Puan Asiah, the library assistant, and some of the 5EN1 girls are seen planting some herbs and vegetables near the fence of the school. Yesterday, it was Cikgu Shahidan with the hoe, last week it was Tuan Haji Hasnin and today it is Puan Asiah's turn. I am sure when our principal, Puan Siti Arfah, sees this post she must be smiling to herself. Anyway, all this gardening is good for our health. It keeps one trim and fit. Look at me. I think I can be an example. Quite a few of the teachers mentioned that I look slimmer and trimmer. I guess it must be all the running around I am doing and all the gardening activity. So anyone who is thinking of losing some weight, do volunteer to help Cikgu Shahidan, Puan Idayati and I at the Herb Garden. Besides doing community work you get to lose weight and be fit. Another benefit you will get is you will get to enjoy herbs, fruits and vegetables that you have planted or cared for yourself.
