PERSISTENT PESTS
The 'bubuk' problem has not been solved yet. The moment I reached school with Sharveen this morning, we went to check the Pondok Ilmu. We still found the powdery stuff on the floor and also on the wood. That meant that all the pesticides and chemicides that we used were not potent enough.
I discussed the matter with Encik Salleh, our driver, and he suggested that we use diesel to rid the wood of the pests. He also offered to help buy the diesel for me. He said that most probably the diesel would be able to kill off the insects. If that still did not work, we will have to apply used engine oil on the wood.
The boys who volunteered to come help me today were Solihin, Adzman, Fadhil, Sharveen and Nazirul. Adzman, Sharveen and Nazirul are librarians while Solihin and Fadhil are members of PEERS. Since Monday, the local boys have been taking turns to help enter the data for the automated library system. Next week, more boys will be coming including a few who are not local. They will be coming with me from Ipoh. Hopefully, the girls will be able to come too.
