MESSAGE FROM CIKGU ISHAK ISMAIL

I met Cikgu Ishak Ismail at St Michael's Institution in Ipoh this week. He and Cikgu Ismail Mokhtar, our senior assistant for co-curricular activities, were there to attend a three day meeting.
Cikgu Ishak wishes to express his gratitude to teachers, students, staff and friends for their messages of condolences, kind words and prayers for his late wife. He also wishes to thank those who attended the funeral.
He tells me that his wife passed away on Wednesday, 29 November 2006 and not on the 28th of November as I had written in the obituary. Cikgu Ishak had gone back to Seri Manjung at that time because he was supposed to be on duty for the Physics paper on the 29th of November. He received a call on Tuesday night telling him that his wife, Puan Siti Munirah, was in critical condition at around 11.30 p.m. and was then rushed to the hospital. On hearing the news, Cikgu Ishak's cousin brother, Cikgu Jalaluddin sent him to the Manjung bus station to board the 1 a.m. bus to Kuala Lumpur. However, even before boarding the bus the two of them received news that she had passed away at 12.35 a.m. When he reached Kuala Lumpur, he went to the mortuary to claim her remains.
I know that today Cikgu Ishak has rushed back to Kuala Kurau to visit his mother who is taken ill. He tells me that after that he would be going back to Kajang on Saturday to see his son, Amir and also to attend to his late wife's affairs.
