ENCIK RIDAUDIN SHAMSUDDIN

Kuala Kangsar is Encik Ridaudin's hometown. He was first posted to this school in 1998 and has been here for almost nine years. When I first knew him he was just 21 years old and still a bachelor. But his single days ended on 1st January, 2001 when he married Puan Nurulhuda binti Ali. They had met while both were attending the Elementary English Language Course organised by UiTM in Seri Iskandar. When asked if it was love at first sight, he said no. He told me that love blossomed as he got to know her better. According to him, Puan Nurul's English Language is better than his. But I think his command of the language is fine. Besides, I am biased as I was his MUET teacher. I make it a point not to speak to him in Malay and only in English. My policy is once I am his teacher, I will forever be his teacher.
At present both Encik Ridaudin and his wife are furthering their studies at the Open University of Malaysia. He is doing a degree course in electrical engineering and is into his sixth semester. He has another six more semesters to go before he completes the course.
His hobbies are reading novels, cooking and rearing cats. My friend is a romantic at heart since he loves reading Malay romance novels. He is a good cook and can easily whip up a delightful array of Malaysian dishes like Chicken Rendang, Bihun Soup and Nasi Lemak. But his expertise is in making pizzas and puddings. Besides cooking, he is also good in sewing. His mother taught him how to sew. Curtains and Baju Melayu are his specialty. Encik Ridaudin loves cats and spends his time pampering and playing with his 5 pets. The cats are named Burn, Jackie, Grey, Rabbit and Baby. Surprisingly, Baby is the mother of the other four cats.
He plans to finish his studies in future. But I have one wish for him and his wife for the future and that is to become parents to real babies and not kittens. I am sure both of them will make excellent parents.
