ENCIK MD. SYAHIDI BIN AWANG

Encik Syahidi reminds me of one of those good looking men from a middle-eastern country, with his fair complexion and nice features. He is ever polite and well-mannered which makes it even easier to like him. I guess that he must have been very popular with the ladies at his university. I am sure his wife, Puan Norashikin Ahmad a computer science graduate, who was in the same university with him must have realised what a good catch this fella from Gurun, Kedah was and made sure that she got to him first. They were married on June 6, 2004 and now have a 16 month old son, Mohd. Faris Najmi.
Encik Syahidi graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Malay Studies from University Putra Malaysia. He has been teaching the Malay language in this school for three years. I must mention that he is very helpful and considerate. Whenever he sees that I have a heavy workload, he always offers to help. He has helped me to collate and staple examination papers and even newsletters. Even though he is not too proficient in the English language but he makes it a point to speak to me in English. He says that in this way it will help him to improve.
He is a sports enthusiasts. He loves to play games especially rugby, football and badminton. He is not too good at the computer unlike his wife who is an expert at it. Encik Syahidi has a penchant for all types of laksa. Mention the word laksa and his mouth would water. He also likes Bihun Soup.

Like many of the teachers I interviewed, he says that he plans to further his education until the Masters and Doctoral levels.
