TRAINEE TEACHER: ENCIK ADZILI B MOHAMAD AMRI

Adzili is another former student of the school. See I told you that STESMA has produced quite a few teachers. The moment I saw him at the office on Monday, I knew that he was a former student but he has grown much in size since his school days. I did not teach his class, Puan Siti Kamariah did. He was from 5T3, the class of 97.
Adzili is from Bidor in Perak. His birthday also falls in the month of July, the 29th to be exact. He is still single but has his sights set on someone already. He has plans to be married on 8th August, 2008 which is a Friday. The date is significant to him because if written numerically it would appear as 888. And I thought only the Chinese like the number eight. I stand corrected.
When I asked him why he opted to be a teacher, he told me a very detailed account of his academic and working life until present. It appears that he had first gotten his Diploma in Electrical Engineering at University Teknologi Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. Then he continued his studies at Universiti Tenaga in Electrical Power. After he acquired his first degree, he got his first job working as an electrical engineer at Westport in Port Klang. But that only lasted for three months. This was because he had a better offer from Kuasa Tech Protection. His job designation was as test engineer. Again history repeated itself. Dear Adzili worked there for only three months. Why? Because he was again offered a job with better prospects at Impsa Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. This time he worked there for a year as an electrical engineer. That was until he decided that he wanted to become a teacher. So he applied and was accepted to be trained as a teacher at Institut Perguruan Teknik. He has already been there for a year.
He loves to watch movies and will be going to watch "Superman Returns" this weekend.
Adzili says he is not too active in sports but he does play football. His position is as fullback. I could have guessed given his size. On the World Cup, his money was on Brazil to win but since the Samba Kings have been shown the way out, he is now supporting France.
When I asked him about the changes in the school, he said that the most noticeable change was the infrastructure. He said the teachers were almost still the same. I think he is being too kind.
He, however, mentions that he is not too sure about the cultural changes the school as undergone. He told me to ask him again after he has been here for a few weeks.
