I went back to UPSI (University Pendidikan Sultan Idris) in Tanjung Malim on Monday to meet Dr. Nor Azmi bin Mostafa who was my M. Ed. TESL supervisor. I needed to see him to get him to fill in a report for my performance as a student and also to consult him about the topic I had in mind for the doctoral thesis proposal. I wanted to research on the effects of blogging on education and asked his advice about it. Well, after the consultation I think I better start considering another topic as I might have to choose another faculty if I were to continue with what I have in mind. Dr Nor Azmi said that I might have to do it under cognitive science or information technology as this topic is more in the territory of these two faculties. Besides, one of my targeted research projects suddenly seemed not feasible anymore due to controversies surrounding the blogger and also the possibility of him going back to pursue his own business interests in two years' time. So it is back to square one. Anyway, the good doctor advised me to take a one year break before I continue with the programme. In the meantime, I am advised to go and look around for a topic that is better suited to my first and second degrees, that is, something which has to do with teaching English.
The first two pictures are of the stately UPSI library and the third picture shows me posing on the stairs leading to the library.
