WESAK DAY

Yesterday was Labour Day as well as Wesak Day. On this day, my mum and I went to the temple to honour Buddha and to seek blessings. We went to two Buddhists temples, one in Gunung Rapat and the other near Tambun Road. I prayed for world peace and happiness and good health for all my friends, students and relatives. Of course, on this day, we are encouraged to do charity and eat vegetarian food.

The first picture shows my lighted lotus candle (with my name below) and those of other devotees that were offered to Buddha. The second is of me bathing a statue of Buddha as an act of respect and purification of oneself.
