Last Friday, during the farewell gathering for Cik Nurul Idliani and Miss Joice, when Tuan Haji Hasnin snapped a picture of Puan Kamariah and I (see picture in English Dept. slide show on the right bar), he commented that I looked old and haggard and Puan Kamariah looked like my daughter. That really jolted me. Oh my God!!! I know I have only been sleeping less than 4 hours daily, have been spending hours on end at the computer and have not been exercising to keep fit but looking old enough to be Puan Kamariah's mother. Ahhhh!!!!
Actually on my birthday, I had told Puan Kamariah that since I was getting older, I had better use lots of moisturisers and eat lots of vitamins to stay fit and young. Well, she also advised me to have more sleep and to remember to eat regularly.
Anyway, during this four-day break, I made sure I caught up with my sleep, ate lots of fruits and vegetables, resumed my exercise regime and did not use the computer for more than 2 hours daily. When I was studying for my masters degree, I'd exercise regularly by jogging and walking and doing aerobics. Now, I don't have much time. That is why I have gone from 52 kg to 55 kg in weight. 55 kg is actually okay since I am 168 cm in height but I prefer to be keep my weight down. I think I will have to discipline myself not to be lax in working out, keeping to a healthy diet and having enough sleep.
Health is very important to everyone. My late father's specialist had advised my sisters and I to be extra careful with our diet and be mindful of our weight. You see my dad died because of complications due to end stage renal failure and he suffered from diabetes and hypertension. As a matter of fact, my mum also has diabetes and hypertension which makes me a high risk case for the twin terrors. Actually, the reason I keep on saying that I want to be fit, trim and healthy is because I saw how my dad suffered each time he was plugged on to a dialysis machine. He had to have dialysis three times a week and each treatment lasted a few hours. He also suffered three strokes which made him wheel-chair bound. From a very healthy man, he became very dependant on others to care for him and it really broke my heart.
The above pictures were taken in the afternoon by my mum. I am eating a pear here. Do you know that pears are the least allergenic of all fruits? Along with lamb and soya formula, pears form part of the strictest exclusion diet for allergy sufferers.
Nutritional Facts:
Low fat
Saturated fat-free
Sodium-free
Cholesterol-free
A good source of fiber
A good source of vitamin C
One medium pear has 100 calories and is a good source of vitamin C. But this fruit’s real waist-trimming power is in its fiber. On average, pears have 5 grams of fiber, about 25 percent of your recommended daily allowance. Fiber is bulky and helps create a sense of fullness. You are going to be less likely to eat as much food afterward if you have more fiber. And for the best weight-loss benefits leave the skin on to get more fiber and nutritional benefits.

Do I look a bit more healthier than my previous photographs that were posted here?
