I was told by a few of the teachers and students that the ants had decided to make a meal of the wood of the Pondok Ilmu. The teachers told me that if I did not act fast, the whole structure would be eaten up and that will mean no more 'pondok'.

That was why I went to check out the structure at around noon with a few of my students. They had finished their paper and came to the library to look for me. We found that the linoleum covering the floor of the hut was filled with a whitish type of powder. Also there were small holes and white specs on a few of the logs. The boys helped me to check under the structure and found that it was not affected. I then knew that we had to spring into action to save the Pondok Ilmu. I told the boys to come in the afternoon to help.
