8 MORE DAYS FOR STESMA FOREVER

Our school will cease to become Sekolah Menengah Teknik Seri Manjung or more fondly known as STESMA after 31st December, 2009. Beginning 1st January, 2010 the school will be known officially as Sekolah Menengah Vokasional Seri Manjung or Vokasma. Therefore I cannot continue doing the STESMA forever blog since STESMA will no longer be in existence in another 8 days. Hence I will be doing the last post on the last day of the year.
However, I will be starting a new blog, "VOKASMA Today" on the first day of the new year. So, please support the new blog which is actually a continuation of the old blog.

The school first started as Sekolah Menengah Vokasional Seri Manjung in 1992. It was then fondly known as Vokasma until 1996 when it was converted to a SMT. It was built under the ADB3 (3rd Asian Development Bank Loan), among 12 new SMVs throughout Malaysia,(and one of 3 to specialised in Electrical & Electronics, the other 2 being SMV Balik Pulau and SMV Kuala Klawang) on a 40 acre land and completed in 1991 at a cost of approximately RM63 million.
Ministry of Education through TAVED (BPTV) took over possession in September 1991 and the first staff (the Principal) moved in on 1st September 1991. First batch of students enrolled in February, 1992 and sat for the SPMV examination first time in November 1993. A lot of development have taken place since 1991. All Vokasma and Stesma staff and students are proud of the school. So Vokasma is back in 2010 after 14 years as Stesma. 'Long live VOKASMA !' (I still have the former Vokasma badge, designed by a student in 1992). Thanks for the fond memory.
